Top 5 tips for applying to PA school

Top 5 tips when applying to Physician Assistant school:

1️⃣ Apply early, be ready to begin the application process as soon as CASPA opens. Many schools have rolling admission and once their class is full they will stop looking at applicants.

2️⃣ Retake courses (especially science courses) that you got less than a B in. If your overall GPA is <3.2 and you have other aspects of your application that will set yourself apart you may not need to retake classes, but I would highly recommend retaking any science classes that you received a C or less.

3️⃣ Ensure that you have ALL of the pre-requisites for the schools that you are applying to. You can call the programs individually to ensure that you meet their requirements if you aren’t sure. This is a must as if your application is missing something all of your hard work won’t be considered.

4️⃣ Engage with a PA that can give you personalized advice/ guidance. Shadowing is important but also meet with a PA that can guide you through the application process and honestly evaluate your credentials. Knowing why you want to become a PA is an absolute MUST! If you don’t know anyone send us an email📩!

5️⃣ If you aren’t fully ready to apply or feel like you may need to work on any aspect of your application, wait! It’s ok not to be ready! You are not on anyone’s timeline but your own! Make sure you are accepted the first time you apply that way you don’t waste money on applications and get into the school of your choice!
